Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated in Louisville, KY, seeks a Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and assets at our Derby City Gaming & Hotel.

You will monitor access, assist in transporting money and chips, and respond to incidents, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

This role requires a high school diploma and the ability to obtain a Racing License, with strong communication and teamwork expected.

• May be asked to operate a company vehicle and/or equipment that require a valid Driver’s License.

JOB SUMMARY

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all Guest, Team members and company assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and Guest.
• Assisting in transporting money and chips.
• Controlling access to restricted areas.
• Reacting to Guest and Team member incidents and accidents.
• Monitoring Guest and Team member passage in and out of gaming facility.
• Responsible for checking for and reporting safety hazards.
• May answer incoming calls to the facility and direct calls or answer Guest questions.
• May be asked to operate a company vehicle and/or equipment that require a valid Driver’s License.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Maintain interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Emergency Disaster Plan Manual.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.
