Job summary

The Moapa Band of Paiute Indians seeks a Security Guard to safeguard guests, staff, property, and assets at the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza. You will patrol facilities, deter theft and disturbances, enforce policies, and respond to emergencies with professionalism under pressure.

Must have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 21, possess a Nevada driver’s license, and pass a background check and drug screen. Excellent verbal/written communication and the ability to log incidents are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Nevada driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Effective verbal and written communication; incident reporting.
• Basic computer skills for logging incidents.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior of the travel plaza on foot, monitoring for suspicious activity and safety hazards.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and disorderly conduct.
• Monitor access points; document and report unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and medical situations; notify supervisors and emergency services.
• Enforce plaza rules and applicable laws including tobacco age restrictions.
• Write clear incident reports and shift summaries.
• Secure doors, gates, and cash-handling areas; assist with opening/closing procedures.
