Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to safeguard multiple properties and personnel. You will monitor premises, respond to emergencies, and manage access control while maintaining detailed incident reports.

This role requires flexibility for nights and weekends, with duties spanning inspections, logging, and collaboration with travel for pool car administration. The position emphasizes vigilance, confidentiality, customer service, and calm decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.
• Medical or EMT experience preferred.
• Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Good organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain membership in professional organizations (e.g., ASIS) as required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor interior and exterior areas to protect people and property.
• Respond to emergencies, provide medical assistance when needed, and assist first responders.
• Investigate risks or incidents using cameras and access control systems, coordinating follow-up steps.
• Administer access control for associates, contractors, and visitors, including badges and alarms.
• Complete incident reports for irregularities and incidents.
• Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment (fire extinguishers, AEDs, alarms) to ensure functionality.
• Collaborate with Travel department on pool car administration and key control.
• Maintain logs for lost & found, temporary keys, visitor access, parcels, and parking.
