Job summary

Wolfspeed in Durham is seeking a Security Officer to patrol campus areas, assist visitors, and protect people and property. This role works fixed 12-hour shifts (day or night) with rotating days and reports to the Security Supervisor.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3 years of full-time work experience, strong integrity, and excellent communication skills. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule in a 24x7 environment and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of full-time work experience.
• Excellent character, integrity, customer service, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing and able to work a flexible schedule in a 24x7 environment.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Reliable transportation and a valid state issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report while performing patrols of campus, parking lots, and manufacturing areas; patrols may be conducted on foot and/or with a vehicle.
• Document activities and submit written reports as a result of routine patrols, alarms, or other requests for assistance.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, customers, visitors, and vendors.
• Fulfill requests for assistance from different business departments and contractors (i.e. Security escorts, traffic safety/direction details, special events support, human resources support).
