Job description

Security Officer

As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in the protection of people, property, and information while supporting the success of our company by being a member of Wolfspeed’s Security and Emergency Management Department.

Work schedule: 12‑hour shifts (6:00p to 6:00a) with rotating workdays based on assigned location. Reports to Security Shift Supervisor and sometimes Security Site Supervisor.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Observe and report while performing patrols of campus, parking lots, and manufacturing areas; patrols may be conducted on foot and/or with a vehicle.
• Document activities and submit written reports as a result of routine patrols, alarms, or other requests for assistance.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, customers, visitors, and vendors.
• Fulfill requests for assistance from different business departments and contractors (e.g., security escorts, traffic safety/direction details, special events support, human resources support).

Minimum Requirements

• Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed to support critical issues in a 24×7 environment.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Reliable transportation and a valid state‑issued driver’s license.
• Capable of frequently sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time, including climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and on uneven terrain.
• Capable of frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10pounds, and occasional lifting/moving up to 25pounds.
• Capable of running short distances in the event of an emergency.
• Lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.

Compensation

Salary range: $15.56–$21.40 per hour.
