Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Waimanalo, HI. The part-time security role involves patrolling grounds, managing front desk check-ins, distributing temporary badges, and ensuring ID badge visibility to protect staff, students and visitors.

You will participate in safety practices and incident reporting per center procedures. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of security experience; the job requires lifting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year security experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50–70 lbs occasionally.
• State Security Guard Certification preferred; must obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of work and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Patrol center grounds and monitor safety of staff, students and visitors.
• Manage front desk for guest sign-in and temporary badges distribution; ensure ID badges are worn by staff and students.
• Respond to safety concerns and report incidents; control, surveillance, identification and investigation of center property, facilities, students, and staff.

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for patrolling center grounds, manages front desks for guests sign-in and temporary badges distribution, monitors that all staff and students wear ID badges, and ensures the safety of staff, students, and visitors. Control, surveillance, identification, monitoring, investigation, and reporting of all matters pertaining to center property, facilities, students, staff, and visitors.

Essential Functions

• Answer telephone calls and greet and assist visitors.
• Assist supervisors and manager assuring accountability of students check-in and out according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist in transporting ill or injured students as required.
• Promote, support, and adhere to safety practices throughout the facility.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One (1) year security experience.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 lbs.
• State Security Guard Certification preferred. Must be able to obtain Guard Certification within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of work with an acceptable driving record required.
