Job description

Job Title: Full-Time Security Officer

Reports to: Security Manager

Job Overview

The Security Officer at JM Bullion is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all bullion-related assets, personnel, and the distribution center. This includes implementing security procedures and ensuring compliance with security standards and insurance requirements. The officer will play a critical role in preventing unauthorized access, theft, and loss of assets stored within the distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safeguard bullion, precious metals, and other valuable assets stored within the distribution center. This includes monitoring storage areas and vaults to prevent theft, damage, or unauthorized access.
2. Adhere to policies and procedures within the security department.
3. Conduct thorough inspections, including wanding of visitors and employees, and x-raying items to ensure that no assets leave the distribution center without authorization.
4. Manage and monitor the entry and exit of personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers, ensuring that only authorized individuals are granted access to sensitive areas.
5. Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and other monitoring devices. Report any suspicious activity.
6. Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement and other authorities as needed.
7. Work closely with the Security Manager and other departments, including operations and management, to ensure all security protocols are consistently followed.
8. Stay up to date on current security regulations and protocols. Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and ensure compliance with security standards.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Experience:

Prior experience in military security, law enforcement, or a related field is required. TOPS level 3 license a plus and will need to be obtained. Experience in safeguarding valuable assets, particularly within the bullion or precious metals industry, is highly preferred.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Security certifications or specialized training (such as CPR, first aid, or advanced security training) are a plus.

Skills:

Physical Requirements:
