Job summary

BayCare Health System, at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, FL, is seeking a Security Officer to maintain safety and security across the facility. The role supports patients, visitors, and staff with patrols, access control, and incident response.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED (associate degree preferred) and relevant security certifications. It is a full-time, on-site role with variable shifts and weekend work.

• Understand life safety and weapons screening techniques.

Position: Security Officer

Facility: South Florida Baptist Hospital

The Security Officer performs general safety & security duties including:

• Patrol and detection services
• Assisting customers
• Response and intervention responsibilities
• Provide monitoring services to assure team member, patient and visitor safety
• Completes communication and documentation tools
• Conducts weapons screening in appropriate manner
• Completes other duties as assigned
• Required specific skills also includes life safety and weapons screening techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

Certifications and Licensures

• Driver's License (State of Florida)
• IAHSS (Security) - Within 1 year
• Security D - Within 90 days
• Preferred : FDLE (Law Enforcement)

Education

• High School or Equivalent
• Preferred : Associate's in Related Field

Experience

• 1 year Customer Service
• Preferred : 2 years Security
• Preferred : 1 year Healthcare in related field
• Preferred : 1 year in Hospital related field
