Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and ability to read, speak, and write English.
• Minimum three years of security experience; law enforcement background considered.
• Supervisory or management experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial investigations and follow up for security incidents and documents findings.
• Performs proactive campus patrols by foot and vehicle; responds to radio calls for escorts, disturbances and emergencies.
• De-escalates situations, maintains control, and completes required training including de-escalation and taser/pepper gel use.
• Operates and monitors access control systems, grants clearances and locks doors; assists visitors, patients, and staff.
• Communicates with incoming shifts and distributes information; maintains professionalism and integrity.

Job description

Purpose:

Provides protective services to all persons and property on Trinity Health Systems premises. Responsible for insuring a safe environment at a standard of quality above the minimum required by governmental and other regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts Initial investigations and appropriate follow up for security incidents and writes a security report documenting all findings.

• Conducts proactive foot and vehicle patrols of the entire campus to include all floors and buildings. Responds to al radio calls for a variety of services to include but not limited to: escorts, property pick- up, disturbances, standbys and emergency calls.

• Ability to deescalate and maintain control in security situations Stays current on all required training to include De-escalation Training and required computer competencies. Receives mandatory health screenings and vaccines. Consistently monitors CCTV activities in the security control room when required.

• Is able to run access control system to include giving clearances and locking of doors. Maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity in al interactions with team members visitors and patients.Follows department dress code. Offers assistance and provide direction to visitors, patients, and staff as needed. Communicate with incoming shift regarding unsolved situations or assignments.Dissimulate information accurately and distribute to appropriate recipients. Uses tact, courtesy, sound judgement and a professional attitude when relating to patients, families, team members, employees.Successfully completes and passes appropriate training for the use of tasers, and pepper gel.

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Must have the ability to read, speak, and write the English language.

• Three (3) years experience in security work or related field. Law enforcement experience considered.Previous supervisory or management experience desirable.

Ability to speak to large groups (must be able to give presentations) and possess good computer skills. Must have some personal computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to promote high standards of courtesy, cooperation, dignity, restraint, and emotional maturity is a must. Possess good communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written. Requires tact to maintain amicable/cooperative relationships. Satisfactory work record including attendance is a must.
