Job summary

Loews Hotels & Co is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to safeguard guests, team members, and property at our St. Louis location. You will patrol the property, respond to incidents, and ensure safety protocols are followed, delivering peace of mind and exceptional service.

Ideal candidates bring prior hotel security experience, calm decision-making, and strong communication skills. Flexible hours, including evenings and overnights, are required to support operations and guest safety.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in hotel security or related field preferred (1–3 years).
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to operate departmental vehicles, including electric transport vehicles.
• Basic first-aid certification or ability to administer first aid preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of security systems, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols preferred.
• Experience in customer service or hospitality to enhance guest interactions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to team member entrances, ensuring a secure environment for guests and staff.
• Conduct regular hotel patrols to identify and address safety hazards and enhance guest satisfaction.
• Respond to emergencies per established procedures, safeguarding lives and property.
• Maintain logs for visitor access and package removal to ensure security and compliance.
• Inspect packages entering and exiting the premises to prevent unauthorized items.
• Document security incidents and actions taken for transparency and accountability.
• Enforce hotel policies consistently to uphold safety and respect.
• Interacts professionally with guests to address concerns and enhance their experience.
• Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activities.
• Coordinate with management on safety-related maintenance issues for timely resolution.
• Manage lost and found items to uphold hotel standards.
• Support health and safety training initiatives within the team.

• Collaborate with team members to support health and safety training initiatives, reinforcing a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
• Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
• Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications Include:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with guests and team members.
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation for incidents and safety issues.
• Additional certifications in security training, conflict resolution, or emergency response are advantageous.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Willingness to participate in off‑site training or refresher courses as mandated by the organization.
• Potential for limited local travel for training or inter‑departmental meetings may be required.
