Job summary

Loews Hotels, LLC. in St. Louis is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect guests, team members, and property across the Ballpark Village property connected to sports and entertainment energy.

You'll patrol the hotel, respond to emergencies, monitor access, log incidents, and collaborate with the team to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all guests, events, and daily operations, including evenings and overnights.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years in hotel security or related field.
• Must remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Able to operate department vehicles, including electric transport.
• First-aid certification or ability preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Knowledge of security systems, safety regulations and emergency response.
• Experience with CCTV systems and security tech preferred.
• Customer service or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Background in law enforcement or military service a plus.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and writing skills for incident reports.
• Additional certifications in security or emergency response are advantageous.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Willingness to travel for off-site training or inter-department meetings.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to team member entrances.
• Perform regular patrols to identify safety hazards and ensure guest safety.
• Respond to emergencies per Emergency Response Procedures.
• Maintain logs for visitor access and packages.
• Inspect incoming/outgoing packages for security.
• Document security incidents and actions taken.
• Enforce hotel policies to maintain safety and respect.
• Interact professionally with guests and staff.
• Monitor CCTV and report suspicious activity.
• Coordinate safety-related maintenance with management.
• Manage lost and found items.
• Support health and safety training initiatives.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with schedules.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Maintain detailed logs for visitor access and package removal, enhancing security protocols and compliance with organizational policies.
• Inspect packages entering and exiting the premises, preventing unauthorized items and maintaining facility integrity.
• Document security incidents and actions taken, ensuring transparency and accountability within security operations.
• Enforce hotel policies and regulations consistently, fostering a culture of safety and respect among team members and guests.
• Interact professionally with guests, addressing concerns and enhancing their overall experience at the hotel.
• Monitor CCTV systems and assist in maintaining a secure environment, promptly reporting suspicious activities.
• Facilitate communication with management on safety-related maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with safety standards.
• Manage lost and found items efficiently to uphold hotel standards and improve guest trust and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with team members to support health and safety training initiatives, reinforcing a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.

Your Qualifications Include

• Previous experience in hotel security or a related field required (1-3 years preference).

• Basic first-aid certification or ability to administer first aid preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience using CCTV systems and other security technology preferred.
• Experience in customer service or hospitality to enhance guest interactions preferred.
• Background in law enforcement or military service is a plus.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with guests and team members.
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation for incidents and safety issues.
