Job summary

Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA is seeking a Security Officer II to join our team. Under the Security Manager's direction you will protect patients, visitors, staff and facilities, enforce policies, investigate incidents, and respond to emergencies as needed.

This part-time role offers 32 hours per week with day shifts; driving may be required in some situations; candidates need relevant security or healthcare experience and the ability to obtain required credentials.

Qualifications

  • 2 years security/military/related experience or healthcare security experience.
  • 1 year Kadlec Security Department experience and required promotion test/oral board.
  • Willingness to drive if required; valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from harm and theft.
  • Enforce Kadlec and facility security policies; respond to incidents and emergencies.
  • Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct and restrain individuals when necessary.

Security Officer at Kadlec Regional Medical Center

Description

The Security Officer II receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer. Performs a full performance level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces Kadlec, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against Kadlec staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high risk areas. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.

  • Part time, Variable Shift, 32 working hours weekly
Required Qualifications
  • Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
  • 2 years Law Enforcement/Security/Military/Corrections experience, or related work experience in a healthcare setting, or relevant college coursework deemed important to the job.
  • 1 year Experience working within the Kadlec Security department, passage of the Security Department SO2 Promotion Test, and the passage of a Security Department administered oral board.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, History, or English.
  • Experience in healthcare setting.
