Security Officer – Providence Portland Medical Center (Full‑time, Night Shift)

As a Security Officer, you will receive general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Security Officer. Your duties include protecting patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property, and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. You will enforce PH&S, facility, and security policies. You will investigate potential criminal conduct, respond to calls, detain individuals when necessary, and provide protective services. Mobile patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, stand‑by duties, alarm response, and special details may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional – Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
• Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional – Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
• Upon hire: Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS‑20.
• Driving may be required. Must provide proof of driver license and auto insurance.
• 1 year of experience using a personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• College level coursework in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or related social science fields.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of security or law enforcement experience (e.g., corrections, police, reserve, military police).
• Direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting.

Pay range: $22.44 – $34.33 per hour, plus potential shift differentials and overtime.
