Job summary

Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer for the full-time night shift to protect patients, visitors, staff and facilities. The role involves enforcing security policies, handling potential incidents, and supporting clinic operations across Providence sites.

The position requires Oregon security credentials, a valid driving record, and PC proficiency; prior healthcare or patient-care experience is preferred. Join a team committed to safety and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional license per Oregon standards.
• Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional license per Oregon standards.
• Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20.
• Driver's license and auto insurance must be provided on request; comply with state driving laws.
• 1 year of experience using personal computers with standard MS applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide security protection for patients, visitors, staff and property.
• Enforce PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations.
• Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct and restrain patients when necessary or directed by police.
• Conduct vehicle and foot patrols, site surveys, threat assessments, and alarm responses.
• Assist in training clinic personnel and support Providence-related sites.

Security Officer at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center- Full-Time, Nights Schedule

Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; respond and assist in restraining patients; detain individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provide protective services to high-risk areas. Mobile positions will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys, alarm/nuisance call response, special details and assist in training of clinic personnel. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon Region.

Required Qualifications:

• Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, or
• Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
• Upon hire: Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 1 year of experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
• H.S. Diploma or GED
• 1 year of Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police.
• Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.
