Job summary

Roosevelt Care Centers in New Jersey is seeking a Security Officer to patrol grounds and buildings, protecting residents, visitors, staff and property. You will transport staff and residents as needed and assist with moving beds.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid New Jersey driver’s license, and at least two years of paid security experience safeguarding people and property.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the grounds and buildings to protect residents, visitors, staff and property.
• Control traffic and parking on the grounds of the facility when assigned.
• Ensure that equipment allocated to the security office is properly used and safeguarded.
• Follow standard operating procedures and other regulations.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to push or pull beds, furniture, file cabinets, etc.
• Able to shovel snow.
• Able to walk 6 flights of stairs.
• Able to restrain visitors/residents or staff in minor violent situations.

Essential Job Functions

• Patrols the grounds and buildings to protect the residents, visitors, staff and property of the facility
• Controls traffic and parking on the grounds of the facility when assigned
• Assures that equipment allocated to the security office is properly used and safeguarded

• Able to lift 50 lbs

Other Job Duties

• Attends required in-service training as well as other training and development programs
• Does related work as required

Basic Competencies Education

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the job.
• Graduation from high school or vocational school or the equivalent.
• Possession of a valid New Jersey driver's license.

Experience

• Two years of paid professional work experience involving the safeguarding of person and property at a large facility or on a police force.

$16.07/hour
