Job summary

Asante is seeking a Security Officer in Medford, OR to safeguard patients, guests, and staff while patrolling designated areas and responding to safety concerns. The role emphasizes rapid assessment, incident reporting, and protection of property in a healthcare setting.

Requires at least 1 year of security-related experience; an Associate Degree in Criminology, Psychology, or related field is preferred. Taser training and DPSST certification are required on start, plus a valid driver's license.

Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | Variable Hours/Variable Days - We are seeking a candidate willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Salary Range: $21.86 and up, depending on experience

Shift Differentials

• $1.33 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
• $2.25 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
• $1.16 extra for working weekend hours

Position Summary

The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees, and the protection of property. They will patrol assigned areas alert for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, or other situations or conditions which may affect the overall security of the organization.

Position Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Criminology, Psychology, or related field, preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience is required.
• Please Note: Graduation from an approved law enforcement academy will be considered in lieu of experience.

Taser Training: Employees must complete appropriate taser training before they are released to work any shifts. Information on this training will be provided upon hire.

Licensure/Certifications

• DPSST: Valid Temporary or Permanent Unarmed or Armed Security Certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training is required upon start.
• DL: Possession of a valid Driver’s License with proof of safe driving record for the past 10 years and proof of insurance is required upon start.
