The officer will patrol, secure entries, monitor systems, respond to alarms, and assist clinical staff as needed while maintaining accurate event records. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and obtain CPR within 3 months, CPI and IAHSS within one year

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Must obtain CPI and IAHSS Basic Certifications within one year of hire.
• Prior security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment through patrols and secure premises.
• Respond to Fire, Intrusion, Elopement and Infant Abduction alarms and investigate.
• Maintain accurate records in the Daily Activity Report and Event System.
• Assist clinical staff with security-related issues as requested.

SUMMARY OF JOB

The role of a Security Officer 1 is to provide a safe environment, to protect persons and prevent damage to property. The major responsibility of a Security Officer 1 is focused on prevention beforean incident/offense occurs. A Security Officer 1: Secures premises through patrols, follows schedules for locking and unlocking, arming and disarming security systems. Inspects buildings, equipment, and access points; permits entry, as required. Monitors safety standardsand reports hazards; blocked exits, fire safety, slippery floors, etc. Responds to Fire, Intrusion, Elopement and Infant Abduction alarm activations, investigate the cause and conduct appropriate follow up. Enforces Redeemer Health policies. Maintains accurate records of events and documents all necessary information into the Daily Activity Report and Event System. Assists clinical staff with Security related issues associated with patient as requested.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

High School graduate or GED. Must be able to respond to emergency situations quickly and efficiently. Must be able to communicate by means of telephone, cellular phone, and two-way radio equipment. Must be able to deal professionally and considerately with a variety of age groups. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Must obtain a CPR certification within 3 months of hire. Must obtain a CPI Certification and an IAHSS Basic Certification within one year of hire and maintain these certifications for the duration of their employment. Prior Security experience preferred. Pa. Act 235 preferred.
