Job summary

Charcuterie is seeking a security officer to protect assigned property and personnel. You will monitor access, conduct patrols, respond to incidents, and enforce policies while documenting events and coordinating with management.

Responsibilities include operating CCTV, processing deliveries, and maintaining logs. The role requires routine shifts and overtime as needed to ensure safety and security across the facility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Prefer 2 years physical security experience.
  • 6 months security experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1 year in a law enforcement related field.
  • 1 year in the armed forces.
  • College credits in related fields may supplement experience.

Provides security and safety for designated property and personnel; observes reports and documents normal activities, irregularities, and incident activities; provides emergency response; provides access control; conducts tours; enforces company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provides effective access control to property entrances.
  • Challenges personnel who do not have proper access.
  • Processes visitors, guests, and vendors.
  • Reads and understands bill of ladings and processes vehicles making deliveries and shipments.
  • Performs visual machinery checks.
  • Operates access control gates manually and remotely.
  • Monitors the facility using CCTV.
  • Monitors access control system devices and conducts basic troubleshooting.
  • Prevents unauthorized access.
  • Controls the movement of people and vehicles.
  • Controls parking as required.
  • Performs interior and exterior vehicle and/or foot patrols.
  • Protects the property from fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.
  • Makes notifications to executives per procedures.
  • Maintains effective communications during incidents.
  • Checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons.
  • Monitors and administers security devices (badging systems, CCTV, etc.).
  • Protects evidence or scene of incident by setting up barriers and signage; provides direction or information to others.
  • Prepares logs or reports; writes or types reports; enters information in a computer with proper grammar.
  • Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to supervisors, management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities.
  • Responds to incidents (fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, etc.) following established procedures.
  • Provides investigative support.
  • Handles confidential information.
  • Monitors and verifies property removal from facility.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Preferably two (2) years of physical security experience.
  • Six (6) months physical security experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • One (1) year in a law enforcement related field.
  • One (1) year in the armed forces.
  • College credits in Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Management, Human Relations, Information Technology, Psychology, Sociology or Business may supplement experience; twelve (12) college credits equal six (6) months of experience.
