Job description

Job Title: Security Guard / Security Office Personnel

Department: Operations

Reports To: Security Manager / Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Hourly / Non‑exempt / Part‑time

Pay Rate: $20.35 per hour

Summary

This position is responsible for patrolling all areas of the property and parking lots, securing doors, and ensuring the safety of all guests, employees, and contract labor while on premises.

Major Responsibilities

• Secure property.
• Lock and unlock facility doors.
• Conduct routine property walks.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Interact with the public and all levels of management and employees.
• Secure the safety of all individuals on the premises.
• Appropriately deal with unruly people.
• Work independently and assess situations for immediate response.
• Monitor CCTV and life safety systems.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
• Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
• Ability to work irregular hours including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D.; some college preferred. 6months to 1year of security experience, preferably in a similar environment. Valid driver’s license required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Some computer knowledge required. No certifications are required.

Physical Demands

Requires large amounts of walking, climbing, stooping, and possibly heavy lifting. Work in both indoor and outdoor settings; may be subjected to adverse conditions, including contact from hostile people.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to join the 401(k) after 1year and 100 hours of service. Holidays worked are paid at time and a half. Sick time is accrued at 1 hour for every 30 worked and can be used in 2‑hour increments or more. Employees (and family) will be eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits after completing 1,560 hours in a 365‑day period.
