Job summary

Covenant Health System is hiring Security Officers for shifts in Lubbock, TX. Multiple openings with evening, night, and day shifts. Onsite position requiring local commuting to Covenant Health facilities.

Under supervision, officers patrol campuses, deter crime, and file detailed reports while maintaining safety and assisting patients, staff and visitors. Prior security or law enforcement experience is preferred and a valid Texas license is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Texas Non-Commissioned Security Officer license required within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or Police experience, preferably in a hospital or campus environment.
• Driving may be necessary; provide valid driver license and auto insurance upon request.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas to deter, detect and investigate crime or suspicious activity.
• Provide information and assistance to patients, employees and visitors; write detailed incident reports.
• Detain disruptive individuals for arrest by local police when necessary; ensure safety and loss prevention.

Please note that this position is onsite and therefore requires the ability to commute to Covenant Health hospitals/facilities in Lubbock, TX.

Under general supervision, patrols assigned areas of the CHS campus to deter, detect and investigate crime and/or any suspicious activity, which could cause harm to individuals or property. Provides information and assistance to patients, employees and visitors. Writes detailed incident reports, and various other reports as required. Takes and maintains control of disruptive individuals for arrest by Lubbock Police Department, when situations warrant this action. Primary emphasis is placed on the safety of the individual and loss prevention. After completion of classroom and practical instructions, will at all times while on duty carry Department issued handcuffs and non-lethal device.

Required Qualifications:
