Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Security Officer for Saint Joseph East in Lexington, KY. The role involves patrolling the facility and grounds on foot and by vehicle, monitoring security systems, and directing security resources to deter and respond to incidents.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, 3 years of security experience, KY driver’s license, and CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire. On-site role with protection of patients and staff across hospital campuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• Three years’ experience as a security officer at hire.
• Six months hospital/security setting experience; or one year general security experience.
• Driver's license in KY at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 30 days.

• Regulate parking by employees and visitors.
• Give directions and assist with minor vehicle problems.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime.

Every day you will effectively monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property, all while embodying our core values and supporting strategic quality improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional vigilance, strong observational skills, proficiency in electronic surveillance and dispatch systems, and a commitment to protecting our community while upholding our organizational values and contributing to a secure environment.
