Job summary

Saint Joseph East is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to uphold safety across our Lexington, KY campus. You will patrol on foot and by vehicle, monitor surveillance, deter and investigate suspicious activity, and coordinate response with hospital staff to protect people and property.

You will monitor electronic systems, dispatch personnel by radio, and provide escorts for employees while supporting our quality improvement and patient-centered care commitment in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School GED or high school diploma required at hire.
• Three (3) years’ experience as a security officer.
• Six (6) months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting; or one (1) year experience as security officer.
• Driver's License: KY, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days.

Responsibilities

• Patrol on foot and by vehicle the facility and grounds.
• Patrol on foot and by vehicle all perimeter buildings and posts.
• Regulate parking by employees and visitors.
• Give directions and assist with minor vehicle problems.
• Provide escorts for employees.
• Provide security coverage in the Emergency Department.

As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime.
