Job summary

CommonSpirit Health, Saint Joseph London in Kentucky, seeks a Security Officer to patrol facilities, deter and investigate crime, monitor surveillance, and dispatch responders. You will protect patients, staff, and property while upholding our values in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include patrolling on foot and by vehicle, managing parking, giving directions, providing escorts, and ensuring security coverage in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

• High School GED or 3 years’ security officer experience
• High School Graduate or 3 years’ security officer experience
• 6 months hospital/healthcare security experience, or 1 year general security officer experience
• Driver's License: KY, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime.

Every day you will effectively monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property, all while embodying our core values and supporting strategic quality improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional vigilance, strong observational skills, proficiency in electronic surveillance and dispatch systems, and a commitment to protecting our community while upholding our organizational values and contributing to a secure environment.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School GED or three (3) years’ experience as a security officer, upon hire or
• High School Graduate or three (3) years’ experience as a security officer, upon hire and
• Six (6) months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service; or
• one (1) year experience as a security officer.
• Driver's License: KY, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
