Job summary

Security America, Inc. is seeking security officers to perform front-gate access control, patrol assigned areas, and document suspicious activity. The role requires reliability, alertness, and the ability to act calmly under pressure.

The position may require working flexible schedules, with full-time benefits including health and dental coverage, paid vacation, and IRA options. Previous security experience is helpful but not required, and applicants must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

Job Skills / Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Officer will mainly be doing access control at the front gate;
• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; report suspicious activities and document all suspicious activity;
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency;
• Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property;
• Escorts unwelcome parties off the premises;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail;
• Possess written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations;
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings;
• Ability to communicate using a phone or hand held radios;

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly;
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk;
• Prolonged periods standing and observing the property surroundings;
• Have the ability to twist and bend at the waist frequently;

Applicants meeting the basic requirements for the security officer position must:

• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Be able to work flexible schedules;
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or 10 years of verifiable work experience;
• Applicants being considered for hire must be drug free before beginning work or receiving an offer of employment. Refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration;
• Have access to reliable transportation to and from the work location;
• Be authorized to work in the U.S.;
• Be able to meet state licensing requirements for Security Officers, if required.
