Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking a Security Officer for the Evening Shift in a full-time role. You will provide a protective presence to deter and detect risks to patients, visitors, staff, and facility assets.

The position requires interaction with diverse individuals in stressful conditions, relying on strong interpersonal skills to ensure safety and compliance with standards. A valid driver's license and BLS/CPI within 60 days are required.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support and CPI within 60 days.
• Law enforcement or criminal justice coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer at MercyOne, you will provide a physical presence for the purpose of prevention and/or detection of adverse conditions which would place the safety and security of the hospital environment at risk while protecting welfare of patients, visitors, staff and facility assets.

Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are often difficult or stressful in nature. Contact with others involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics. The job requires a high degree of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated problem situations. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others.

Schedule:

• Full time .8 (32 hours per week)
• 2nd shift

General Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic Life Support and CPI within 60 days
• Law enforcement or criminal justice coursework preferred

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Pay Range: $18.25 - $27.37

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
