Allen County Public Library is seeking a Full-Time Security Officer to support the downtown Main Library on second shift. You will monitor buildings, respond to incidents, and enforce policies while maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons.

The role emphasizes observation, calm decision-making, and collaboration with staff to ensure safety and inclusivity during 2nd shift hours.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license.
• Strong observation and situational awareness.
• Clear, professional communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
• Reliability, integrity, and calm demeanor under pressure.
• Experience in security, public safety, or customer-facing environments preferred.
• Familiarity with basic surveillance or security technology is a plus.

This is a primarily 2nd shift position. The schedule for this role is Monday - Thursday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Friday & Saturday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, and Sunday 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM (40 hours per week with a rotating weekend schedule)
