The ideal candidate has an active Maryland security guard card, reliable transportation, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Prior security experience is preferred; comprehensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland security guard certification (guard card).
• Reliable transportation to the work location.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Professional verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to stay composed and make sound decisions in unexpected situations.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
• Previous security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent presence throughout assigned areas and stay attentive to activity around the property
• Monitor entrances, gates, loading areas, and other controlled-access locations
• Observe camera feeds, alarm notifications, and access control systems for unusual activity
• Complete scheduled patrols of buildings, parking areas, storage spaces, and property boundaries
• Identify and report suspicious behavior, unsafe conditions, security concerns, and rule violations
• Respond to alarms and unexpected incidents according to emergency procedures and post orders
• Request assistance from police, fire, or medical responders when needed
• Document daily observations, shift activities, and incidents in clear, accurate reports
• Provide courteous assistance to employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors
• Follow assigned instructions, company policies, and safety procedures
• Communicate concerns and shift updates to supervisors
