Job summary

Emerson Health is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for day shift to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors on campus. You will document shift activities, respond to calls for service, and complete security incident reports in line with hospital policies.

Reporting to the Security Supervisor, you will maintain a safe environment, de-escalate crises, and communicate effectively in English. Experience in security or healthcare security is preferred; AVADE certification must be obtained within

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service industry preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare security environment strongly preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: AVADE Certified in Workplace Violence Prevention Levels I, II, and III or obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Skills: Excellent customer service, strong verbal communication, emotional resilience, de-escalation, English reading/writing, ability to write Security Reports.

About This Role

Reporting directly to the Security Supervisor, responsibilities include assuring a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. May be called upon to provide assistance in many different circumstances, settings, and weather. All shift activities are coordinated to ensure compliance with all hospital policies, documents all shift activities and calls for service as well as security incident reports.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education

• Experience
