Job summary

PrairieCare in Minnesota is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. You will work as part of a unified team across sites, using security technology to control access and monitor the facility, and respond to emergencies and drills.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of security-related experience, and a strong emphasis on customer service, trustworthiness, and sound judgment in crises.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Associates or Bachelors in a safety or security related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in security, law enforcement, military or related field
• Preferred knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care standards and quality of care
• Great Customer Service Skills
• Trustworthy and Honest
• Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making skills in crisis situations and implementing emergency response procedures
• Ability to maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations
• Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
• Able to work alone and with minimal supervision

What You'll Do

Security Officer is responsible for the day to day activities of ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. Security Officers work as a member of a unified team that provides a safe and secure environment by working collaboratively with all sites, departments and agencies.

Compensation Range:

$20-$25 per hour
