Job summary

Emerson Health is seeking a Per Diem Security role to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will document all shift activities and security calls while supporting a responsive security presence across the hospital.

The position requires strong communication, crisis de-escalation skills, and the ability to write clear security reports. AVADE certification or progress toward it is preferred, with a 60-day employment window for certification.

About This Role

Reporting directly to the Security Supervisor, responsibilities include assuring a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. May be called upon to provide assistance in many different circumstances, settings, and weather. All shift activities are coordinated to ensure compliance with all hospital policies, documents all shift activities and calls for service as well as security incident reports.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience
  • Experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service industry preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare security environment strongly preferred.
• Licensure and/or Certification
  • AVADE Certified in Workplace Violence Prevention Levels I, II, and III or obtain within 60 days of employment
• Skills
