Job summary

Raines Company seeks a part-time Safety and Security Officer for the 3rd shift to protect hotel guests and staff while patrolling premises and reporting hazards. The role emphasizes professional presentation and proactive communication to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include responding to guest requests, assisting with HR-related hiring procedures, and upholding all safety standards during the shift. Prior security or hotel operations experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of hotel security/engineering experience or similar role.

Job description

PART TIME 16 to 24 hours a week, 3rd shift (11 pm to 7:30 am)

Position Summary:

The Safety and Security Officer is responsible for providing protection and communication with hotel guests and employees. He/she is also responsible for patrolling hotel premises to maintain security, detect and report fire, security and safety hazards and/or violations of rules and regulations.

Essential Job Functions

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with service standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
• Comply at all times with service standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Respond to all guests’ requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents arising in person or through reservations, comment cards, letters and/or phone calls, in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Prepare and conduct all front-of-house Room Division interviews and follow hiring procedures according to S.O.P.’s. Actively support Human Resources with recruiting efforts. Ensure that all managers are in compliance with the standards in their interviewing and hiring procedures.
• Develop employee morale and ensure training of Rooms Division personnel.
• Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.
• Operate radios efficiently and professionally in communication with hotel staff.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience

• (2) year of experience in a hotel engineering function or similar role in relevant trade

Hours Required

• Full time position. Scheduled days and time vary based on hotel needs. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

• Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15-25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
