Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in Ashburn, VA. This flexible, dependable role lets you supplement income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with an industry leader.

The position offers a fixed anchor shift with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform. Pay is $23.36 per hour, with opportunities to scale hours up to 40 per week when available

Qualifications

• Valid driverâs license required in the job location.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 (unarmed) / 21+ (armed).
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and personnel while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the property and surrounding areas.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization, and document incidents.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and professionally.
• Report maintenance concerns and security issues to site leadership.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and personnel while carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the property, building interior, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate access and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and security‑related issues to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
