Job summary

Prairie Meadows is seeking a security officer to protect guests, staff, and casino assets at Iowa's No. 1 entertainment destination. You will monitor assigned areas, verify credentials, and respond to incidents to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities include reporting incidents, patrolling outdoor areas near the racetrack, and communicating effectively with guests and team members. Must meet physical requirements and have a valid license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of related security experience or training preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to read and write routine reports and other correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests and employees.
• Must lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining security over assigned areas by observing guests and watching for unlawful or suspicious acts.
• Safeguarding casino assets and protecting the company, guests, and employees from threats.
• Checking credentials and IDs at access points.
• Receiving and responding quickly to phone and radio calls.
• Completing reports for all incidents.
• Surveying outdoor areas near the racetrack to ensure guests do not enter restricted areas.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

• Receiving and responding quickly to phone and radio calls.
• Completing reports for all incidents.
• Surveying outdoor areas near the racetrack to ensure that guests do not enter restricted areas.
• Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous military, security, or education in these fields desired with two or more year’s related experience and/or training preferred. Valid driver's license and safe driving record required. Must meet company insurance requirements. Must be able to read and write routine reports and other correspondence. Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests and employees. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. is required.
