Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is looking for a security officer to protect patients, visitors, and employees. You'll be responsible for ensuring safety through inspections and responding to calls for assistance.

Qualifications

Job Description

Protects Hospital’s Patients, Visitors, Employees, And Property. Makes periodic inspections of all hospital premises, responds to all calls for assistance, provides public with information, reports sightings of unusual conditions and/or equipment malfunctions to proper authorities. Escorts hospital employees and visitors to and from parking lots as required. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned. PT evenings (4p.m.-12 a.m.) or nights (12 a.m.-8 a.m.) 16 hours a week (benefit eligible). Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent. Must have completed Ohio Peace Officer Training or 120 Private Security Training Program or associate degree in Criminal Justice. Must have ability to follow written and oral instructions and perform well under stressful conditions. Constant people contact, must have effective interpersonal & communications skills. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and must be insurable under the hospital’s liability policy. Ability to work 12 a.m.-8 a.m. or 4 p.m.-12 a.m. shift/schedule – two shifts per week.
