Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is hiring a security officer to maintain continuous alertness and protection of residents and the facility.

You will operate within legal and contractual guidelines, ensuring security equipment is ready and logs are accurately maintained. Responsibilities include conducting patrols, documenting incidents, supervising resident activities, and cooperating with staff to uphold safety and order within the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year general work experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and able to document and report clearly.
• Effective written and verbal communication with staff and residents.
• Demonstrates flexibility and ability to handle a variety of duties.
• Ability to interact professionally with residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain readiness and security throughout shift, including radios, flashlights, and keys.
• Record shift details, incidents, and reports legibly in logs.
• Conduct routine and random safety checks and counts.
• Patrol building regularly to ensure security and safety of residents and property.
• Supervise resident work details and oversee facility cleanliness.
• Document disciplinary actions per procedures and log accordingly.
• Communicate with residents and staff to maintain respect and cooperation.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute observations for team improvement.
