Job summary

Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation seeks a security monitor to gather and analyze Avigilon camera reports, continuously observing live and recorded footage to deter crime and protect assets. You will report incidents, track movements, and coordinate with authorities as needed.

The role includes operating surveillance gear, dispatch during codes, and supporting the Emergency Management Coordinator. Excellent English communication and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Gather and compile Avigilon camera reports and evidence.
• Monitor camera images continuously to assist with crime prevention and detection.
• Report incidents or suspicious behavior and monitor vehicle, patient, staff, and visitor movements.
• Notify Team Leader and authorities when necessary.
• Operate and maintain surveillance equipment and track maintenance.
• Answer security calls and act as dispatch during codes or incidents.
• Assist Emergency Management Coordinator with notifications to authorities and leadership.
• Facilitate communications within the security department.
• Maintain security logs and ensure patient confidentiality.

Position Summary

Gather and compile Avigilon camera reports and evidence.

Monitor the camera images continuously so as to assist with the prevention and detection of crime regularities such as but not limited to theft reduction, asset protection, security investigations and providing evidence.

Watching both live and recorded video surveillance footage, reporting incidents or suspicious behavior, monitor the movements of vehicles, patient, staff and visitors.

Report any suspicious movements to the Team Leader and/or contacting the authorities when necessary.

Monitor for duress alarms, door alarms, fire alarm activation, doors not locking or working properly.

Responsible for operating and maintaining surveillance equipment (cameras, cables, storage unit, display unit/ monitor, keyboard), track preventative maintenance, and report malfunctioning camera equipment.

Answering security calls, transfer as needed.

Act as dispatch during a hospital code event/ incident (disaster) radio and/or telephone.

Assist Emergency Management Coordinator with notification to proper authorities and YKHC Leadership.

Facilitate communications within the security department.

Provide support for other employees in the office.

Collecting and counting all department performance improvement data.

Maintaining effective record keeping of security logs, Keep in compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, particularly relating to patient confidentiality.

Position Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent No experience and/or prior security monitor experience recommended High level of customer service and a positive approach.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills Knowledge of computer systems.
• YKHC Cisco Phone System.
• Standard Network and Computer Accesses.
• Office machines (i.e., multi-line telephones, computers, copy machines, etc.) Basic computer skills to use email system and report writing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Yupik/English preferred.
