Security Manager, Global Corporate Security

Description

Amazon Corporate Security is seeking a motivated and proactive security professional who embodies Amazon’s Leadership Principles, such as Customer Obsession, Deliver Results, Earn Trust, and Bias for Action. The Security Manager will oversee security operations in the Upper Midwest, reporting to a Regional Security Manager and supporting the implementation of all elements of the Corporate Security program across all Amazon corporate locations in the area.

The Security Manager assists with daily security operations, conducts assessments, manages mitigations, and tracks security issues to resolution. They leverage their expertise to develop security plans, policies, and programs, respond to security concerns, and collaborate with security teams to provide excellent security services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage daily security operations across diverse sites and client requirements.
2. Implement security policies, plans, and programs aligned with organizational goals.
3. Coordinate incident response and address security concerns.
4. Monitor external threats and mitigate risks accordingly.
5. Align security metrics and strategies to support team objectives.
6. Engage with stakeholders and external partners to build trust and share security concerns.
7. Act as a security advisor with high-quality communication and briefing skills.
8. Maintain relationships with internal security teams and external agencies.

A Day in the Life

1. Oversee guarding operations and ensure quality service delivery.
2. Coordinate with security partners, including law enforcement.
3. Conduct security assessments, audits, and gap analysis.
4. Lead drills, exercises, and security readiness activities.
5. Manage projects to meet security milestones and goals.
6. Implement processes and procedures for clear communication among stakeholders.
7. Investigate security incidents and support organizational safety initiatives.
8. Oversee security device installations and maintenance activities.

About The Team

The Global Corporate Security team manages security operations worldwide, divided into three regions: Americas, Asia Pacific, and EMEA. The team works collaboratively to protect Amazon’s people and assets.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of security experience in a large or global organization, including managerial roles.
• Experience managing vendors and service providers.
• Knowledge of security operations, risk management, and crisis communication.
• Proficiency in developing security standards and SOPs.
• Experience in training, investigations, project management, and contract management.
• Fluent in English, with clear communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or relevant certifications.
• Experience in corporate security for large companies.
• Knowledge of crisis operations, risk management, and legal contracts.
• Experience with security technology, trend analysis, and investigations.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools like SharePoint, Tableau, and project management software.
