Job summary

Annandale Village is seeking a Security Manager in Suwanee, GA to maintain safety for villagers, staff, and visitors. You will patrol premises, monitor entrances, respond to alarms, and assist during emergencies following our disaster plans.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of security experience, a valid GA driver’s license, background checks, and drug/TB screenings. We offer benefits and a mission-driven work environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ with a valid Georgia Class C driver's license and insurance.
  • Background checks (GBI/FBI) and drug/TB screenings required.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol premises and monitor entrances to ensure safety.
  • Investigate suspicious activity and assist staff and villagers as needed.
  • Respond to alarms and follow Emergency Disaster Preparedness plans.
  • Assist with fire drills and monthly/quarterly safety tasks.
  • Submit incident and daily surveillance reports.

Our Facilities team plays an important role in creating a safe, comfortable, welcoming, and well-maintained environment where Villagers can live, learn, work, and connect. Through responsive service and attention to the spaces Villagers call home, the Maintenance Technician helps support the daily life and mission of Annandale Village.

Position Purpose

Responsible for maintaining safety throughout the Annandale community for our villagers, staff, and visitors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Security & Campus Safety

  • Patrol premises regularly as directed.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people on the property.
  • Remove trespassers from the area and seek assistance from SPD if needed.
  • Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions.
  • Provide assistance to people in need.
  • Escort staff to and from vehicles during shift changes.
  • Serve as the Designated person of authority in the event of an emergency.
  • Respond to alarms by following the company’s Emergency Disaster Preparedness plans and procedures.
  • Provide assistance with Monthly and Quarterly Fire drills

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
  • Check for Fire egress within all buildings on every shift.
  • Perform Exterior lighting check during each evening shift.
  • Check all exterior doors to be locked immediately following building curfews.
  • Test Emergency phone and two-way radio at the start of every shift.

Additional Responsibilities

  • May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.
  • Perform minor Maintenance tasks as required.
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to meet the personal service and care needs of the facility’s residents.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
  • Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
  • Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands; use fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl.
  • Employee is required to lift up to 25 pounds and/or move up to 75 pounds (with assistance).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee may be required to transport (drive) and assist Villagers in and out of vehicles.
  • Employee is required to perform CPR/First Aid.

  • Proven experience and credentials as a security officer or guard with strong surveillance and observation skills
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, emergency response, security procedures, and applicable policies and processes.
  • Knowledge of modern fire panels, door alarm systems, electronic access control, and CCTV camera systems.
  • Experience utilizing an electronic work order system and operating a golf cart.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand and follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions
