Responsibilities

  • Deliver proactive, discreet, and risk-informed protection to senior leadership during day-to-day activities, events, meetings, and personal engagements.
  • Maintain constant situational awareness and implement protective strategies to mitigate physical, reputational, and logistical risks.
  • Assess risk conditions based on geopolitical context, crime patterns, local infrastructure, and security resources.
  • Conduct reconnaissance and security advance planning at venues, meeting locations, travel routes, and accommodations.
  • Work closely with executive assistants, internal security, travel and logistics teams to integrate security into leadership schedules.
  • Coordinate international and domestic travel support, liaising with local teams, external vendors, transport services, and vetted local security partners.
  • Support coordination with global security vendors for additional protection, medical support, or regional surge capacity.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining residential security protocols for designated leadership residences.
  • Participate in emergency response and evacuation efforts during high-impact incidents or medical emergencies.
  • Contribute to written risk assessments and operational plans.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and incident reporting in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global threat trends and adjust security posture accordingly.
  • Maintain a highly professional and discreet presence at all times.
  • Maintain personal readiness through regular training, drills, and equipment checks.

Job description

The Executive Protection Officer (EPO) role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of members of the senior leadership team through professional, discreet, and proactive personal protection. This includes physical protection, risk-based planning, risk monitoring, secure mobility, residential security support, and coordination with internal and external partners in both domestic and international contexts. The EPO operates with discretion and professionalism in all environments, including corporate, residential, travel-related, and public-facing.

The position demands the ability to work independently, assess threats in real time, and apply security best practices across diverse and sensitive contexts. The ideal candidate will combine operational discipline with situational adaptability and a high level of personal integrity.

The EPO plays a key role in the company's in-house executive protection model, working closely with Safety & Physical Security, Risk & Resilience function and vetted external providers when required. Functional reporting is to Head of Executive Protection, while the official line management remains with Head of Risk & Resilience.

Key responsibilities

Required qualifications and experience
  • Proven executive protection experience in corporate, government, or high-net-worth environments.

  • English fluency, additional language skills Spanish/Portugese is an asset.

Texas (USA)
  • Must hold a valid Texas Level III Commissioned Security Officer license (or be willing to obtain).

  • Knowledge of legal framework regarding use of force and security equipment in the USA, Canada and Latin American countries.

  • English fluency required.

  • Understanding of multi-jurisdictional security requirements in the U.S.
  • Ability to operate across state lines in coordination with local providers and law enforcement.

Communication skills

able to communicate and develop operational relationships with external parties including country security teams.

  • Has cross-cultural knowledge and global mindset Requires ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the role.

  • May conduct briefings with senior leaders within the job function. May at times be required to negotiate regarding operational issues.
