Position Overview

To promote the safety and tranquil stay of hotel guests and associates, ensuring policies and procedures are maintained within a safe and secure environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a Tennessee unarmed security license and be able to pass Dallas' Law training, CPR/AED, and First Aid courses upon hire. Training and licensing will be provided by the hotel if needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Promote the safety of guests, associates, and hotel property at all times.
  2. Perform security patrols and monitor various areas including restaurants, public spaces, banquet and meeting areas, guest floors, associate entrances, parking areas, and exteriors.
  3. Visit locations requiring special attention as needed.
  4. Respond immediately to emergencies and security requests.
  5. Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and security of receiving areas.
  6. Provide written reports of activities each shift, and deliver oral reports and emergency notifications as required.
  7. Complete administrative tasks for the Loss Prevention Department, including writing reports, maintaining files, processing work orders, and managing supplies.
  8. Maintain high standards of professionalism in attitude, appearance, and conduct.
  9. Monitor entries and exits, inspect parcels, and manage package passes.
  10. Oversee the back entrance and receiving dock.
  11. Verify identification of personnel and visitors, providing information and directions, and notifying relevant department heads for non-staff entries.
  12. Confiscate unauthorized items and notify appropriate personnel.
  13. Maintain key control procedures, investigate discrepancies, and report findings.
  14. Ensure security equipment is maintained and functional.
  15. Manage the hotel Lost and Found program.
  16. Maintain communication with the Director of Loss Prevention.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned and respond to supervisory directions.

Qualifications

  • One-year experience in a similar Loss Prevention role preferred.
  • Experience in upscale hospitality loss prevention preferred.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and email.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
