Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Security Lieutenant to lead Security Officers on assigned shifts and maintain a safe, secure environment for patients, visitors, team members, and guests. As a first-line leader, you will supervise daily operations, coordinate responses to incidents, conduct briefings, support training and drills, and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

This role requires a High School diploma, four years of security or related public safety experience, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum four (4) years of security, law enforcement, military security, corrections, or related public safety experience.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Healthcare security experience preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain Florida Class “D” Security Officer License.
• Must obtain CPI Certification, IAHSS Basic Certification or higher, and IAHSS Supervisor Certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Orlando Health is seeking an experienced Security Lieutenant to lead Security Officers on assigned shifts and help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, team members, and guests.

As a first-line leader, the Security Lieutenant serves as an operational escalation point responsible for shift supervision, incident response, training support, accountability, and ensuring consistency in daily security operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Security Officers and coordinate daily shift operations
• Respond to and manage significant incidents and emergency situations
• Conduct shift briefings and support officer training and development
• Assist with emergency preparedness drills and incident command activities
• Monitor compliance with departmental procedures and hospital policies
• Support coaching, corrective action, and leadership initiatives
• Serve as backup department timekeeper

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum four (4) years of security, law enforcement, military security, corrections, or related public safety experience
• Supervisory Or Leadership Experience Preferred
