Job summary

Bechtel’s U.S. Summer Internship Program offers a 10-week security internship experience from mid-June to mid-August. Interns work across Bechtel’s GBUs and functions, gaining hands-on security exposure while contributing to project, jobsite, and office activities.

Interns are treated as integral team members, with opportunities to develop professional skills, network with leaders, and participate in mentorship and end-of-program presentations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program.
• Basic knowledge of governmental and industrial security techniques and developments pertinent to project/office security.
• Basic experience in the implementation or administration of basic security programs.
• Limited knowledge of personnel security clearance policies and procedures.
• Ability to clearly communicate security requirements to contract guards, engineers, and construction personnel.
• Basic knowledge of national and international security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Capable of obtaining necessary security clearances for access to government classified information.
• Basic training in industrial security to include personnel, physical and information security requirements, and related security subjects.
• Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Help conduct security surveys and audits for compliance with programs and report discrepancies.
• Assist in safeguarding Bechtel and client information, maintaining security logs and files.
• Develop security instructions, emergency plans, and related documents for sites.
• Prepare security plans, reports, and studies and coordinate emergency planning with teams.
• Support security technology integration into project design and construction.
• Assist investigations of questionable activities and recommend actions.
• Help prepare security presentations for management and clients.
