Our Senior Security Installation Specialists play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. This involves ensuring the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems (IP cameras/CCTV, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms) are handled timely and accurately. This position supports our Solutions team, which handles new construction and retrofit projects in commercial buildings such as hospitals, universities, data centers, and industrial facilities. In addition to the primary responsibilities, this position acts as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced Specialists, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team.

This position can be located anywhere in the Greater Boston, MA area.

This position can be a mid-level or senior-level position, depending on experience.

As a Senior Security Installation Specialist, you will:

  1. Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance:
  • Run routine reports to review system operation
  • Participate in final inspection and testing
  • Support customer acceptance
  • Assist with customer training on system operations
  • Complete and submit routine written reports
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
  • Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination:
    • May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed

    You will make an impact with these qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 1+ years' experience (mid-level) or 3+ years’ experience (senior-level) in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated Security Systems, which could include access control, IP video cameras, intrusion, and surveillance
    • Understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management, IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission and factors that impact video rates and quality, and basic switch, router, and firewall principles
    • Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
    • Must be willing and available to participate in an on-call rotation with other Specialists
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
    • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements in order to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program

    Preferred (not required) Qualifications:

    • High school diploma
    • 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
    • Massachusetts Class D Electrical License
    • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

    • The pay range for this position is $57,600 - $112,600 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, job level, and premium geographic location.
