Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Install Technician to install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV systems at customer sites in Louisiana. You will read blueprints, install components, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.

You will troubleshoot issues, document work orders, and communicate project status while traveling to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Experience with commercial security systems and integrated low-voltage platforms preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications in security or access control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
• Install system components per project specs.
• Test systems for proper functionality and codes compliance.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and perform corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment safely.
