Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard - Work Zone to safeguard clients across construction sites. You will patrol, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors while following site-specific procedures and access-control requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of construction areas, perimeter locations, entry points, and temporary facilities, documenting observations and irregularities.
• Monitor authorized access to the location, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized entry or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures.
• Report construction-related hazards, damaged barriers, unsecured materials, and other security-related concerns according to site protocols.
