Job summary

Allied Universal in Montgomery, AL seeks a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to monitor premises, deter incidents, and provide courteous service to tenants and visitors. You will perform patrols, verify access, and respond to alarms following site procedures.

The role offers a stable part-time schedule (Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM; Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM) at $16.30 per hour, with opportunities to advance via our Shift platform, access to Smart Tools, training, and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Security license requirements depend on state.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interiors, exteriors, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document activities.
• Monitor access to the property and verify visitor authorization.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports and communicate with leadership.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
• Monitor access to the property by observing entry and exit activity, verifying visitor authorization as directed, and maintaining professional interactions with all persons on site.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
