Job summary

Requirements

Conditions of employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must pass initial and annual medical examination, emotional and mental stability which includes physical agility/ability test, IAW AR 190-56.
  • Must pass initial drug test and subject to random drug testing.
  • This position is Mission Essential.
  • Must possess a valid, state-issued motor vehicle license (loss of license may result in removal from the position).
  • Must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends, as required.
  • Must qualify and remain qualified for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP), IAW AR 190-56.
  • Must meet annual training, re-certification and mandatory requirements of AR 190-56.
  • May be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves and other associated equipment.
  • Required to meet proficiency requirements in specialized weapons and unarmed self-defense.
  • Must be qualified and certified in Chemical Aerosol Irritants, Tear Gas, Radar Gun and breathalyzer operations.
  • Must obtain and maintain Certification in CPR and First Aid training

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing physical security duties such as access control, standing fixed posts or conducting patrols to protect personnel, facilities, and restricted materials; 2) Assisting with the requisition, inventory, and tracking of organizational supplies, equipment, or ammunition utilizing automated systems; 3) Performing administrative and record-keeping duties, including utilizing secure databases to process reports background checks or timekeeping data; and 4) Supporting organizational logistics, such as coordinating vehicle fleet dispatch or conducting physical key control inventories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
