Job summary

Remington Ammunition is seeking a Security Guard to manage site access, perform rounds, and enforce safety and security protocols. The role involves monitoring surveillance systems and responding to incidents on the plant premises.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work under stress or alone. Training in threat response and certifications in First Aid/CPR are expected within set timeframes.

Qualifications

  • Must pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives.
  • Ability to work under stress and independently.
  • Experience with security systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for entrants at the Remington Ammunition site.
  • Direct visitors to their destinations following established protocols.
  • Conduct foot and vehicle rounds and compliance inspections.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarm panels, and badge readers.
  • Act as emergency coordinators and first responders to incidents.
  • Check gates for secure closure and supervise access control.
  • Investigate vehicle/traffic accidents on site and document findings.
  • Conduct random vehicle and employee searches entering/exiting the plant.

Pay Range: Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $23.37 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.

Job Description

As the Security Guard, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be the first point of contact for those entering the Remington Ammunition site, including regulatory officials and law enforcement.
  • Direct those unfamiliar with the site to their destination, escalation issues by following established protocols.
  • Make foot and/or vehicle-assisted rounds, perform various compliance inspections under environmental, safety and security mandated programs.
  • Monitor camera's, alarm panels and badge reading equipment.
  • Act as emergency coordinators and first responders to significant spills or environmental incidents.
  • Watch for spills, leaks, fires, theft and vandalism.
  • Check gates to ensure they are closed and/or locked if appropriate.
  • First responder to accidents, emergency and/or crisis situations.
  • Investigate vehicle/traffic accidents on site.
  • Check badges of employees accessing plant.
  • Conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant.
  • Warns violators and documents any infractions such as loitering, trespassing, smoking in restricted areas, and carrying forbidden articles.
You Have:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must possess basic mathematics skills
  • Must have valid driver's license without restrictions
  • Must be able to pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives (Employee Possessor)
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions
  • Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work alternate work schedules as needed
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of physical security systems
  • Must be trained in threat response within 90 days of employment
  • Must be certified in First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire
  • Must be certified in fire extinguisher use within 90 days of employment
  • Must certify as 8-hour HAZMAT responder within six months of employment
You might have:
  • Two-year technical diploma in law enforcement or similar
  • One year or more of prior security field experience
  • Prior law enforcement or military background
Work Environment

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
