Job summary

The Arlington of Naples is looking for a Security Guard to support a hospitality-driven security team on site in Naples, FL. You will greet residents and guests, manage access, and promptly respond to emergencies while upholding the community’s hospitality standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, strong English communication, and a hospitality mindset. Part-time shifts may include evenings and weekends; training in first response and safety procedures is provided.

Qualifications

• Class D Security License preferred.
• Ability to respond on short notice and work flexible schedules.
• Strong decision-making skills and calmness in emergencies.
• Proficient reading, writing and spoken English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and basic arithmetic.
• Exceptional hospitality mindset and customer service focus (required).
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training in first response and safety.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome residents, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• Verify and monitor entry of third-party contractors and visitors.
• Deliver courteous customer service to all entrants and exits.
• Respond to fire alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
• Conduct patrols inside and outside the buildings.
• Build positive relationships with residents and staff for safe procedures.
• Assist with special security needs as situations arise.
• Maintain entrances and walkways, remove snow/debris when needed.
• Complete incident and shift reports for security/safety events.
• Follow policies and supervisor directives.

Position Title: Security Guard

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Supervisor:Director of Facility Services

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This role combines front-line security responsibilities with emergency medical response, ensuring prompt, professional care during medical incidents while upholding The Arlington’s hospitality standards. This position serves as a first responder for medical and facility emergencies and plays a vital role in resident safety, emergency preparedness, and community support.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

• Greet and welcome all residents, visitors, vendors, and contractors in a warm, professional, and hospitable manner.
• Verify, document, and monitor the presence of all third-party contractors, visitors, and vendors entering the community, ensuring proper access and direction.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to all individuals entering and leaving the premises, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
• Respond promptly to fire alarms, emergency calls, and security incidents throughout the community.
• Conduct scheduled patrols and security rounds inside and outside the buildings to maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and property.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with residents, family members, visitors, and team members to ensure security and emergency procedures meet community needs.
• Assist with special security needs involving employees, visitors, and residents as situations arise.
• Maintain entrances, exits, and walkways to ensure safe passage at all times; remove snow and debris from exit areas as needed.
• Complete written incidents and shift reports detailing security, safety, or medical events that require administrative awareness.
• Perform duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and priorities set by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time; may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to walk 90% of the workday; ability to stoop and stretch occasionally; must observe universal precautions.
