Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard (Unarmed Patrol) in Paramus, NJ. You will provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and employees while patrolling a retail/mall site and maintaining a visible security presence.

The role requires 1 year of security experience, HS diploma, and may require CPR or licensing. Shifts are part of a full-time schedule with pay around $19.50/hour.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required before employment.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific procedures and policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident and patrol reports while maintaining professionalism and supporting a positive visitor experience.

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

• Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities while maintaining a professional presence and supporting a positive visitor experience.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
